Sophos has appointed Sunil Sharma as Vice-President – Sales for its India and SAARC region. This new strategic leadership position will focus on strengthening the company’s sales and channel strategy for India and SAARC.
“With a strong rapport with local partners, Sunil has successfully leveraged the UTM market for Cyberoam in the past. We are certain that he will replicate the same success for us in our endeavour to become a vendor of choice for both endpoint and network security solutions. His leadership will be crucial to carry out sales engineering and reseller enablement initiatives in India and SAARC while ensuring that our channel and sales organization gain higher synergy with Cyberoam’s ecosystem,” said Stuart Fisher, Regional Vice-President & Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, Sales, Sophos.
Commenting on his new role, Sunil said, “Over the years, security has become central to business strategy and CXOs in the region recognize this fact very well. The fact that India and SAARC is among the fastest-growing market for security solutions amply validates this point. As a result, we have seen increased opportunity for our next-generation security solutions. The larger product portfolio will, undoubtedly, give an unsurpassable edge to our partners in the market.”
Sunil joined Sophos through the acquisition of Cyberoam in 2014 where he successfully led channel strategy and sales operations for the same region. In this new role, he will drive business development opportunities, and oversee the integration and expansion of Sophos and Cyberoam channel ecosystems across India & SAARC.
